Last night in the House of Commons, South Derbyshire Heather Wheeler MP asked the Minister, Robert Goodwill MP to take a harder stance against companies who operate and level fines in a number of car parks in South Derbyshire and at Burton Hospital, leaving residents of South Derbyshire charged with horrendous fines in their hour of need.Heather said “I had 18 cases in 2014 alone, from people who had been charged incredible fines by the private operator when using the car parks at Burton Hospital. The entry system used was somewhat cumbersome, asking customers to enter their car registration number, using a tiny keypad where mistakes were easily made.
Today, Heather Wheeler, MP for South Derbyshire raised the success of one of her local schools, William Allitt, in Education Questions.Heather said “It was a real pleasure to be able to tell the Minister about the accomplishments of The William Allitt School and the exciting few weeks ahead of them with their entry to Big Bang UK Young Scientists & Engineers Fair at Birmingham’s NEC next week.“The Minister was also very supportive of The William Allitt School, and looks forward to meeting the pupils at the NEC.
Today Heather Wheeler MP has raised her concerns with the Chancellor, the Rt Hon George Osborne MP, regarding the taxation of the dairy industry.The South Derbyshire MP said: “This is such an important issue for South Derbyshire as we have a long standing dairy industry that is a vital local employer.“I have raised the alternative options available for taxing the dairy industry, and preferably switching to a five year average which should provide a more stable billing structure.“I am working hard to ensure that the dairy industry is preserved and continues to thrive in South Derbyshire” finished Mrs Wheeler.
