Heather Wheeler MP joined with the Hilton Gardening Club, friends of Hilton Methodist Church, the Local History Group and the Tarbard Family on Monday at Roma’s Garden in Hilton to witness the unveiling of a memorial sundial.
Roma's Garden is a piece of land that has been painstakingly restored by the Hilton Gardening Club in dedication of Roma Walton, who had given of her time so freely to village causes.
Heather said “This ceremony was particularly poignant as the unveiling of the memorial sundial and plaque was undertaken by Mr Tarbard, who lost his son Wayne in the fighting in the Falklands.
“The Gardening Club has done so well in the conservation of the garden and arranging such a special ceremony.
“It was also a pleasure to see Maxine Harlow, Wayne’s sister at the dedication, she is a tireless campaigner for Help the Heroes.” finished Mrs Wheeler.
