Heather Wheeler, MP for South Derbyshire, visited Nether Hall Care Home, Hartshorne on Friday 20th June and raised local awareness of National Care Home Open Day.
Heather said “I was delighted to meet with manager Sheila Smith her staff and the residents for a chat and coffee. The National Care Home Open Day is a great way to showcase the good work done by Homes across South Derbyshire. The ownership has changed since my last visit and I am pleased to see another step up in the staff numbers and quality of care. The activities put on by the staff are very impressive ranging from outside visits to local places of interest to bringing in small exotic animals for the resident to see and handle.
Manager Sheila Smith said “It was a pleasure to invite Heather to see the improvements we have made over the last year not only in the care but in the surroundings such as the gardens and decorations.”
Heather went on to say “One of the things that so impressed me following my visit was the relaxed atmosphere and how nice it was to meet one of the local CQC inspection officers who had just dropped in to see the staff and residents.”
